Coby is an Australian singer and songwriter, and she was living in Europe at the time. The father of the groom, was a big fan and asked her to perform at the wedding in the Netherlands.

However, a few short months later, Coby heard from the father of the groom again, this time to share to the most heartbreaking news that the baby they had all been so excited to meet in December—was stillborn.

He said they had all been comforted by her music in the wake of their devastating loss, and asked if she could write a song for his little grandson which he could give as a gift to his son and daughter-in-law.

Coby named the song Winter Bear, the family's nickname for the baby boy whose birthday fell in the middle of a cold Dutch winter.  Now, her beautiful song provides just what mothers need as they cope with the loss of a child to stillbirth.

I knew you before I knew your name
I loved you before I saw your face
I longed for you for all of that time
And I held your heart in mine

I kissed you a hundred million times
I tasted the tears that I cried
I held you my beautiful child
And I'll keep your heart in mine

I love you to the moon and back my little Winter Bear
I know you know how much that is cause you're already there
I never knew a love like this could ever possibly exist
I love you to the moon and back as long as I live

I see you in all of the stars, shine brightly right into our hearts
I look at the night sky above and wonder can you feel my love

I love you to the moon and back my little Winter Bear
I know you know how much that is cause you're already there
I never knew a love like this could ever possibly exist
I love you to the moon and back as long as I live

I love you to the moon and back my little Winter Bear
I know you know how much that is cause you're already there
I never knew a love like this could ever possibly exist
I love you to the moon and back as long as I live

I love you to the moon and back, Winter Bear

I knew you before I knew your name
I loved you before I saw your face
I longed for you for all of that time
And I'll keep your heart in mine
